Haymarket Medical Education (HME)—accredited provider of continuing medical education—announces it has earned two prestigious recognitions in the Spring 2024 Digital Health Awards. Both awards were in the Digital Health Media, Publications, Medical Education category, with HME securing Gold and Bronze honors.
Earning Gold for HME was the medical education activity, Novel Approaches to the Management of Relapsed/Refractory Multiple Myeloma – a JEOPARDY! Game. This activity, designed and produced by HME and hosted exclusively on myCME, utilized a gamification format to deliver content in an engaging manner. This innovative educational format fostered self-advancement for healthcare professionals and yielded robust educational results. The game-based learning platform met the evolving needs of learners seeking stimulating and self-driven educational experiences.

In addition to its captivating design, this educational format empowered HME to collect comprehensive self-assessment outcomes data. Responses to specific game categories allowed HME to identify ongoing knowledge and competence gaps in targeted therapeutic areas, categorized by clinician type and specialty. This game-based approach to learning positions HME at the forefront of educational design, utilizing data-driven insights to continuously improve and tailor future educational activities.
The activity achieved significant milestones, including notable improvements in learners’ understanding of criteria for recognizing relapses in Multiple Myeloma and managing adverse effects. In 3 months, there were 218 overall learners, 92% of whom were either MD/DO, NP/PA, Nurses, or Pharmacists. 48% were Hematology/Oncology specialists.
Earning Bronze for HME was the medical education activity, Improving Outcomes for Our Patients with Obesity: Take the Escape Room Challenge! Designed and produced by HME, this activity utilized an innovative escape room configuration leveraging a revolutionary educational format designed to foster engagement and increase learning potential. Learners engaged with this activity via a multidisciplinary panel discussion among 3 expert faculty and completed interactive challenges on important topics in obesity care.

Launched on November 30, 2023, HME compiled a 3-month interim report, capturing valuable outcomes data. In this period, the activity engaged 202 learners, with 1,000 anticipated participants expected to impact 3,336 patients. Additionally, 91% of learners planned to apply the content in their clinical practice, marking significant improvements in knowledge and competence.
Winning both Gold and Bronze in the 2024 Digital Health Awards within the Digital Health Media, Publications, Medical Education category is a significant achievement for the HME team.
