HME is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, and the American Nurses Credentialing Center to provide CE for the healthcare team.
Joint Accreditation is the gold standard for continuing education for physicians, pharmacists, and nurses—and also includes physician assistants, psychologists, dietitians, optometrists, and social workers, among other professionals. Offering five types of certified professional CE, HME is on par with some of the most prestigious US medical schools, hospitals, and national medical associations throughout the world.
HME develops educational programs in accordance with the ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education. These standards support—and the Joint Accreditation criteria require—that educational activities and interventions be developed independent of ineligible companies and promote interprofessional continuing education.
All educational content is planned, developed, and reviewed by expert faculty, clinicians with requisite expertise, and/or experienced staff. Each learning plan is predicated on a valid and thorough clinical gap analysis and educational needs assessment, a fair and balanced determination of educational objectives, and a learning design that incorporates appropriate adult learning principles. The accreditation department works collaboratively with all departments to ensure that the highest standards of compliance are met.
