Haymarket Medical Education (HME) proudly participated in The Alliance 2024 Annual Conference, delivering presentations in two sessions. The event brought together interprofessional continuing education professionals to share and implement best practices, emphasizing the value and impact of continuing education for healthcare professionals.

Sara Brykalski, Director of Accreditation, alongside ten esteemed colleagues, led an interactive workshop that provided participants with valuable insights into the foundation and value of continuing education for healthcare professionals. Specifically, Sara presented on the ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education to help learners apply the Standards to common professional scenarios. The session focused on the accreditation landscape, adult learning theories, and practical application to real-world case studies.

Angie Ladas, VP, Educational Strategy, and Krista Sierra, Director, Grant and Content Development, delivered a captivating presentation on the evolution of continuing medical education. They emphasized the transition from traditional unidirectional methods to engaging game-based learning, highlighting the introduction of an innovative learning format without complexity. Learners left the session equipped with a deeper understanding of game-based educational strategies, practical tactics, and enhanced capabilities to integrate these modalities into future CME activities. Angie and Krista shared two past activities to underscore the technological and design effectiveness of Immersive Gamification in Medical Education.
